Checkout 3.0.2 Released
We have just shipped Checkout 3.0.2, some of the most important improvements are:
- Better performance when editing orders, sales and quotes (especially noticable when you’re using Checkout in a networked setup)
- Fixes to stock corrections that would not do anything
- Much better readability of printed barcode labels
There are a bunch of other improvements as well (you’ll find the – rather lengthy – full release notes below), but these are the top three issues that have been reported by people using earlier versions of Checkout 3.
Checkout 3.0.2 is a free update for everybody who’s using Checkout 3.
Keep reading for the full release notes.
Checkout 3.0.2 Release Notes
This update improves stability and performance, and is recommended for all Checkout users.
- Product Manager
- Negative stock corrections work properly again.
- Fixed a related problem where deleting a product would sometimes not properly clear out stock.
- When an attempted stock correction is not possible because of changes to a product’s stock quantity since the correction dialog was opened, the dialog no longer dissappears.
- After creating a new product, the product list now filters to show just that product (instead of it being buried among a bunch of other products).
- Barcode Label Printing
- Massive improvements to readability of printed barcodes.
- Checkout now automatically picks the best symbology for each barcode label (UPC-A, EAN-8, EAN-13, ITF, Code 93 and Code 128 are supported), instead of printing every barcode using Code 39.
- When it’s possible, Checkout now adjusts the size of printed barcodes to align with the used printer’s output resolution.
- Performance
- Improved performance in Order/Sale/Quote editing, by reducing unneeded network activity.
- Significantly reduced application size on disk.
- Reliability
- Fixed an issue that caused some stores to become invisible in the Login screen after a specific type of crash.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when displaying Invoices with no Tax Region on them.
- Fixed a crash when trying to sort on Description in the Variations Properties sheet.
- Showing a Customer’s orders or invoices from the Client Inspector is now more accurate.
- Fixed a crash that happened after viewing the Product Manager Web Store tab, then logging out, then switching away from Checkout to another app.
- Fixed a crash that sometimes happened when first receiving stock for newly created or imported products.
- Fixed a rare crash when trying to view the variations of a product with no name in the main product list.
- Feature/Usability Improvements
- Fixed a bug that made Checkout-printed barcode labels unreadable when barcodes had lowercase characters in them.
- The Extra Info field in the Customer inspector now wraps text, so it no longer goes off-screen when typing a long single-line text.
- Added support to manually load data from EnStore Order json files.
- Spaces are now removed automatically from the pre-filled username in the Setup Assistant.
- Other Improvements
- Fixed several small drawing glitches which caused some interface elements to look fuzzy on Snow Leopard.
- Fixed visual glitch in search fields, where custom search strings (e.g. “New Customer”) were cut off at the bottom.
- Export products/customers options in the “File” menu work again.
- The tooltip of the main window search field is now adjusted automatically when switching between orders and invoices.
- Added a missing entry for the Growl license to the Acknowledgments file.
- Viewing product variations with an empty name in product lists no longer causes the title of the variations list to be “Anonymous”.
