I have often accidentally clicked 'paid' without selecting the correct payment type and ended up with a cash sale registered instead of a card one.

As sales records are final, I think the only way to correct this is to do a return and refund the sale with cash and then ring through a new sale with the correct card payment.

Personally, I'd like to see a confirmation screen of some sort before the payment is committed to the sale. Something like "Paid £100 by Cash, Is this correct Y or N" This might catch a few errors and save the hassle of returning and re-recording the sale.

Thanks Phil, thought that would be the only way of doing it, Is their any reason why this has changed my margin on that sale? I twas a sale of five items which should have shown a margin of £23.99, when i did the refund it showed a refund margin of -23.99 which is correct, but then when I put exactly the same sale through again but as a card the margin dropped to £17.04, am I missing something???

Not sure about that one! That is a big drop.

There shouldn't be any difference in margin between the two sales.

Have you tried doing a report on the day's sales? The custom report "Product Sales Detail" shows every line in each of your sales with the margin for each line. That should hopefully give you all the info you need. I find it one of the most useful of the reports.

Checkout Team: Would it be possible to create an equivalent report for orders please??

I think I downloaded it from the 'Extras' page of the checkout website. https://checkoutapp.com/extras

BTW I'm not an expert, so if anyone knows better, please enlighten us!
