Performance speeds

Hi, we are running 3.0 and are suffering from a very slow checkout resulting in us actually not bothering using it on our busiest day of the year, what would be the best way to get this back to speeds we were used to, I assume we will have to perform back up, empty cache, dump prefs possible reinstall software, we are also experiencing slow turnaround when printing to our Star t100 receipt. Any help would be very welcome.
Thanks in advance

There have been performance improvements in the recent (free) upgrades. Is there a reason why you're still on 3.0 (the latest is 3.5)?

Do you have the Stock Room window open? We find having this open in background slows down all of the other functions.

    Richard,

We are currently in the process of testing a beta release (3.5.6) that solves this issue. The issue is related to the algorithm that was implemented on how to calculate cost/margin. In the upcoming weeks we will probably announce a public beta of this release. This release will dramatically increase the cost algorithm and also reduce the memory usage.

But we have a temporary work around, we made a special build that just disable cost/margins calculations that can be used from the link below::

As soon the real 3.5.6 gets released, it will during migration recalculates all the cost and margins values for all your transactions.
