Disappointment Leads Us to LightSpeed

Without too much negativity and thankful for the help we received initially, we have decided to leave Checkout after only a couple of months and invest in LightSpeed. I couple of points I would like to raise for other users and the developers:

1. Lack of transparency in development times: no real information as to when or what but a few vague replies and intermittent posts.
2. Shopify Integration: our in-house web designer has contacted Shopify several times to be informed that there is no realistic plans.
3. Tablet Format: this is a real letdown; surely Checkout won't exist in the future if this isn't addressed.

I thank all the poster's who have added their information. It's a shame in a way but without better information and transparency on plans for the future, we find it impossible to continue investing in Checkout. Hopefully the developer's will sort this out but it's a little too late from our view.

Best wishes to all.

    Hi Jann,

thanks for sharing the information. Good to know that Shopify states there are no realistic plans, solves a lot. Good luck in the future & with lightspeed!

I fear I am not far behind you. I am so used to checkout though and really don't want to leave!

Everyday that these guys feed us BS makes it easier though.

Sorry to the bearer of this news. I saw Mark's post and the reply so I guess this sums it. It's really poor I feel; money first and then maybe we'll deliver on what we stated before the sale. I'm not sure there are too many companies around who have done this and survived.

Hi Jann, did you make the switch yet? I am planning to do the same and would like to talk to someone who did it already.
If possible could you email me on [email blocked] so i could communicate with you with regards to the switch over process

    Thanks

    Mark

I'm on the same exact page as everyone. I've been waiting for the shopify integration for the last six months, since one of the checkout reps told me it would be coming out. It's gotten to the point that their lack of transparency is negatively affecting my business. This is extremely rude and shows a lack of respect for their customers (US). So I'm not going to either switch to lightspeed or or the Shopify POS. I don't know if the Shopify POS will have the reports that I have grown to love but I do know that they respond to emails, help solve problems with their customers, and readily available to come and help in person with any issues that may arise, free of charge, as I live in Ottawa, ON. Can't be any worse than this.

Also why isn't their a gift card option in payments? Thats insane. Its a shame that I bet on a dead horse but I will learn from my mistakes. Unless Checkout can give me a date today I'm out... and we know that's not going to happen.

I didn't want to make the change to Lightspeed, but I have and couldn't be happier about it.
