The first option on the Welcome Screen is View the Quicktours. These short online tutorials offer you the opportunity to learn about the basic functions of Checkout. Each tour lasts approximately 1 to 2 minutes and is broken down in an easy-to-follow format. You also have the option to open the Help menu and search Checkout’s documentation or login to your account and view your support options.
Included with the software is an example store that is available for training and trial & error purposes. This store is always available to you and is refreshed upon each login, meaning that everything appears to be new and you never have to go searching for an old invoice in an obscure date range. Just remember that, since the example store is refreshed, whatever you record today in the example store file will be gone the next time you login to the store.
You can register one license per Mac, and your license is tied to your machine ID. Once the software is licensed, you can deactivate your license on that Mac at any time, so if you have problems (a lost, stolen, or ill Mac, for example), you can just use your deactivated license on a backup Mac. For more information on how to register your Checkout software, see Chapter 4.
By default, the welcome screen appears each time you launch the application. Should you wish to hide the welcome screen, simply click the check box at the lower left corner that says “Don’t show the welcome screen on startup”, and the next time you launch the application, you will be taken directly to the login window. Should you ever wish to view the welcome screen again, simply go to the Window menu option and select Welcome Screen.
