Upgrading to v4
I may be completely missing something here but whilst trying to upgrade my store to v4 I encounter the problem of being told my trial has expired. When I go to register with my licence key in the new software, I can't input my key as it's numbers and letters and I am only allowed to type numbers. Nothing I've read indicates that I should need to do that anyway.

Hi Max,
Sorry that you are having this issue. Checkout v4 no longer users the license keys as previous versions did so if you've purchased Checkout v4, you should have received a new serial number for it. Before upgrading to Checkout v4, it is best that you run the latest update to v3 if you have not already.
If you are just trying to run the trial, I am not sure why your trial would have expired as it should last for 30 days. Did you by any chance have Checkout v3 running while you were also running the Checkout v4 trial?
Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for getting in touch.
I haven't purchased Checkout v4 I have v 3.6/7795. I'm under the impression I don't need to purchase again in order to upgrade, is that correct?
If so, I have followed the instructions on the site with regards to upgrading and essentially when I restore my store on the download for v4 it doesn't allow to log in and says my trial has expired.
Regards,
Max

hi Mike/Checkout Support
We are in exactly the same 'boat' as Max above. Upgraded from the latest version of Checkout 3 to Checkout 4 and now the license key does not work (20 digit alpha numeric to 12 digit numeric)
Does that mean we have to buy a new Checkout 4 license? If so, can we not rather go back to V.3 ?
thanks!!
Frikkie

Same problem here - on two separate upgraded V3 => V4 machines. Seemed to go straight into trial mode (unbeknownst to us) and then stopped working after 30 days. Fortunately, I had purchased a V4 license for a new machine and was able to move it over to our primary cash register machine to stay operating - but our back room machine is still off-line. I have three other upgrades for other stores on hold until I know for sure what is happening. Seems like a new license key is actually required to complete a successful upgrade. Please advise - on or off-forum.
Thanks,
Randal
