Hello Pryce,
I am sorry that this has happened. There are a couple of reasons that this could happen. First, I would make sure you are logged into the Mac as the same user who created the store. This can also happen if Checkout did not close properly and there is a lingering temporary lock file that needs to be deleted. We do have step by step instructions in the link below:

We have located our data base but the store is know where to be found. I am embarrassed to say our last back up was some time ago. Is it likely we will find our Checkout store ?. We have been extremely busy throughout winter. This is no excuse for not having recent back ups. Fact is we haven't backed up adequately. I know how easy it is to back up but we have been remiss in paying attention to this detail. I had been setting up our time capsule as I was aware that our status of backing up was poor. The disappearing incident occurred on the day of changing our wireless connection from an airport to our time capsule. Don't know if this had any bearing but ironically that we finally got the system in place to back up and then the failure occurred and our data was lost. I have followed the instructions in the link provided and there is still no sign of our store. If you have any further advice I would appreciate your help.

Hello Pryce,
When you say you have located your database, do you have the database.checkout file? If you login to the Mac as the original user who created the Checkout Store, the file would need to be in the Users Home Folder > Library > Application Support > Checkout.
I hope this helps.

Michele
