proceeding with sales with no inventory amount

We have a few items in our bookstore such as newspapers and photo copies where it is not important for us to have a product inventory. In your demo it will not allow us to proceed with a sale of these products unless there is inventory. Is there a way to override and proceed with the sale, or are we going to have to put in an arbitrary inventory amount for these items?

    When you add the product you can select the item to have physical stock or not. Non-physical stock will not have its inventory managed and can be negatively sold.
