Multiple prices for the same product

I'm wondering how to go about ringing up the same product at different prices. For example, let's say I carry 10 necklaces from artist XYZ, and each piece is a different price. I'm at a loss of what to do if someone wants to buy more than one necklace. I currently have "XYZ" in my inventory as "$0.00", thinking I could simply input "XYZ" twice for a sale, filling in the prices separately. However, that doesn't work. What would you suggest I do in that case?

    Hello Louise,

I am sorry that you are having this problem. Where are you filling in the prices separately that it doesn't work ? You can use your "XYZ" product as a zero price. You would add the "XYZ" product to the sale (for example two times) this will create two line items for "XYZ". You can then manually change the prices for each "XYZ" product on the sale screen to different prices.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Michele,

I've attached a screenshot showing what the problem is. When I add "flowers" to sale twice, rather than creating two lines for each "flowers" entry, it simply changes the quantity to "2". Is there maybe some sort of setting that will stop it from changing the quantity and instead create two line items? I need to be able to ring the same "flowers" category at different prices in the same sale.

    Thanks,

    Hello Louise,

How are you entering the items on the sale? Are you able to click and drag from the product list on the right hand side? Are you logged into the store as an admin or employee? Also, could you advise what version and build of Checkout that you are on> From Checkout Menu (next to apple) About Checkout.

If you are still having trouble you may want to call Checkout Support at 877-788-1202 (9am-6pm Eastern Time) for immediate assistance. We can connect to your screen to best troubleshoot the issue.

    Hi Michele,

I had previously been selecting the left side of the sale screen and typing in the product. I hadn't thought to drag and drop the item from the list on the right side! Doing that indeed adds two lines of the same product rather than simply a quantity of "2" of the product. Problem solved!

I do have an unrelated question: I'm currently using the trial version of Checkout, although I plan to purchase the license soon as it's a really great POS system. I do no online business and have no need to store anything to the cloud (not sure if that's something you even offer); I have one business location and only one terminal. My question is, in buying the license, is it just a one-time fee or are there monthly fees? I know generally with POS software it's just a one-time purchase, and that cloud-based POS are generally monthly payments.

    Thank you for your help!

    Hi Louise,

I am glad the issue has been resolved with the product line items.

When you purchase one Checkout software license, it a one-time price to register Checkout software on one computer. You own the software and there are no monthly fees to maintain and use that software. As purchasing the current version Checkout 3, you are entitled to all updates released within the Checkout 3 version. The knowledge base and forums are always available.

You do have the option of enrolling in a monthly support and maintenance plan, this would include unlimited telephone support online case submission and software upgrades. This plan is $29.99 a month with a 12 month commitment.
