Is there a way for customers to pay in advance, or pt money on their account to draw down later?

    Hello David,

If I understand you correctly, you'd like to take customer payments in advance. There is no direct feature for customer's advanced payments, but there is a workaround that you could use to make it work.

Checkout has a feature to allow for customer deposits. However, the deposit you receive needs to be less than the total price of the invoice. So, if the customer is paying you $100 in advance, you'd have to sell an item(s) that you price at $100.01 or more in order to accept the deposit. Once the deposit is received, you can then remove the item(s) from the order. The result is a deposit for the full amount of money that you can then use. As a customer purchases items, you can add them to the order and invoice the customer. Checkout will then prompt you that if you invoice the customer for less than the total deposit, an order will remain to use for future invoices.

I hope that this all makes sense but please let me know if I need to further clarify.
