Importing Tax rates

I have created two tax rates - taxable and tax free.
The import products template does not look like it has a field for tax rate.
Do I have to then go through the 3,000 items I have and change the rates?
I see this can be done through grouping by brand (which roughly relates to taxable status) which then adds on the tax. Does this mean I have to import the products with tax exclusive prices, change the rate and then review the inclusive price for rounding issues.

    Hello David,

If I understand you correctly, you'd like to change the tax code related to multiple products at one time. There are two ways that I think would work best:

1 - When you import the products, you have the option to "Apply default taxes to new products." If you separate the product import, you can set the default tax code as tax free (for example) and import all of the tax free products. Then, change the default tax rate to the taxable rate and import the rest.

2 - You can use the Manager > Product List after importing all of your products. You can highlight all or some of the products in the list and manage their Pricing settings at the bottom. The pricing tab is where you set the taxes that apply to the products. So, you can check off the taxes that applies to all of the highlighted products.

I hope that these options help.

    Regards,

    Mike
