Master Password

Only one password can be used to back up a store, which is not ideal. In any case, I tried to change the master password by restoring a sore from its backup and entering a new password, but this did not work. How does one change the master password used for making store backups?

    Hello GK,

In order to make a backup in Checkout, a password is not required. A password is required to get into the Manage Checkout Stores window. Is this the password you are referring to? If so, this is set on your Mac and you would have to look into your System Preferences to adjust that. This password is the password of whatever user you are logged into the computer as and has nothing to do with what is in Checkout.

If this is not what you are looking for, could you clarify a bit further about the steps you are doing and what you are expecting to happen?

How can you make a backup without a password? I am going to Manage Checkout Stores. I am asked to enter a password, which apparently cannot be changed. I enter my password and then choose Backup Store.

    Hello GK,

This password is your Mac user password. In order to enter into the Manage Checkout Stores window, you need to enter your Mac user password. This is not a password that is derived from Checkout. There is no way to bypass the need to enter a password when trying to create a backup of the store.
