Heads up for anyone who is waiting for shopify to be integrated.

I spoke to someone today at Checkout and the have no idea when it will be ready as they recently lost some staff that we're working on it.
So, if your like and were waiting for it to happen in "Fall", i wouldnt hold your breathe. Based on my experience with software i would guess they are 9-12 out on this product.
Im switching to Lightspeed!

Ugghh.. So frustrating. I was really banking on this coming out. It would really streamline our process. If this is the case I would love it if staff can give an updated ETA.

Quick update. Thanks for your patience - we've been hard at work on a variety of fronts, some boring (but essential) behind-the-scenes techie/development stuff and also on the Shopify integration. We're on track, but not comfortable promising any dates. We hope to be looking for Checkout 4 beta testers soon. We will post a link for beta sign up on this thread.

I would love to be part of beta testing.

Scott, how can you say your on track with this? We are in the fall and your not at Beta testing stage yet, we all know that beta testing is usually a minimum of 2-3 months.

You say your "not comfortable" giving any dates, yet on your website its clearly states "in the fall".

Our years in software development have continually taught us not to give dates - maybe one day we'll learn! We've updated the website accordingly. Apologies for that.

Not sure if we'll hit the Fall and not sure if Beta will take that long (typically our Beta cycles are shorter than your experience). Again, the message here is that we are working on it (as well as other projects) and it is a priority.

Here is the link to our beta program, if anyone is interested: http://goo.gl/7gLE6F

SCOTT- If you were working in any other industry you would not have a job my friend. How can you not have a target date? I repair bicycles- If I told the customer I have no idea when it will be done, they would never come back!

If mavericks can come out when apple says, a pissy little sale system can reach a bloody target!

GET ON IT. STOP TALKING SHIT.

Jonny, its unbelievable!! These guys say one thing and don't follow thru, i've called them many times trying to speak to someone in development to at least get a estimated timeline, ANY company that produces a product had a target date along with a progress reports. As of today they are still not in Beta, so based on my previous software experience they are 3-4 months out on this.
I would love to talk with the CEO of Chekout and let him know what a piss poor job he is doing with this company. I understand there are set backs in any project, but let your customers know about it. Hiding is the worst thing any company can do.
FYI - I am planning to switch to light speed in Jan 2014 so i don't have to deal with this BS anymore.

@ Scott: to reiterate on Mark & Jonny's posts here , we have been significantly mislead or ill-informed as to the direction of Checkout. I didn't feel that, as a buyer of your software, I had my concerns addressed in a timely manner and in an appropriate way. Checkout cannot possibly expect retailers to rely on a 'maybe date' when the core process of managing their business is an effective POS system that integrates with e-commerce and the demands of bricks and mortar. The lack of transparency from Checkout is the main reason I switched to LS, not the shortcomings of the software.

Exactly. The software is great. Its easy to use and things make sense in checkout. I have tried a number of other options but nothing comes close in this way.

But unless there is action NOW and improvements made in support and transparency, checkout will loose it customer base very quickly. Anyone who glances at these forums will surely be wise enough not to lay down their cash.

So, Now is the time you put on your big boy pants and save your company Scott. If this means hiring some more programers and spending some capital. Why would you not? The alternative is not very nice!

We have issues with the way that enstore works. We have both a web store and a brick and mortar store. Our problem is that in order for our end of day accounting procedures to work properly, we would need enstore to do a transaction sync to our POS as soon as a web purchase is completed. We are hoping that shopify can do this automatic pass-thru. Regardless of when the software will be delivered, is this functionality even going to be available?
