Instructions for Trustwave Registration (PCI Compliance)

If you are a merchant using Forte Payment Systems (formally known as ACH Direct) as your Merchant Account provider and you have elected to enroll in Trustwave's Trustkeeper service to assist you in achieving PCI Compliance, below are some helpful hints for the registration process.

Before you begin, please remember: In Checkout 3 and 4, the payment processing and handling of credit card numbers is done by Forte's PCI compliant Payment Gateway. Checkout does not store credit card numbers, and when entering a credit card number, you're actually not entering the card into Checkout but, instead, into Forte's Payment Gateway.

After you go to the Trustwave registration website, but before you begin the registration process, we encourage you to spend a few minutes reviewing a short video (only 5 minutes long) that will help you understand what PCI is, why you have to be PCI Compliant and how to get started with the registration process. After you view the video, you will be able to get through the registration process quickly and easily and will be directed to the version of the Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) that is appropriate for your business.

After you click Get Started, you are presented with 4 options: Website, In-Person, Mail/Telephone and Multiple Ways. Depending on how you answer, Trustwave will ask you 1 or 2 more questions to further identify how your business processes Credit Cards.

1. Website (If 100% percent of your sales are done through your web site. No in-person and no mail/telephone sales.)
   The ONLY way customers can make purchases is by visiting my business' website and entering their credit card information.
   • My Website
     When customers submit their payment, they stay on my website (i.e., the checkout/payment page is part of my website).
     Complete your registration and create your Trustwave account.
   • A Third Party
     When customers submit their payment, they are taken to a different web address (i.e., the checkout/payment page is separate from my website).

     (The likely selection for our customers who process the credit card transactions through Forte.)
2. In Person (If 100% percent of your sales are done with your customer present. No web and no mail/telephone sales.)
   The ONLY way customers can make purchases is by visiting my business' physical storefront.
   • High-Speed Internet
     My business processes credit card payments using a high-speed (cable, dsl, etc.) Internet Connection.
     • POS Terminal
       My business processes payments using ONLY a POS terminal. Complete your registration and create your Trustwave account.
     • Other
       My business uses a different type of POS, such as a payment application, a touchscreen, a computer with a web browser, etc.

   • Dial-Up or Paper

3. Mail/Telephone (If 100% percent of your sales are done through the mail or on the telephone. No, web and no in-person sales.)
   The ONLY way customers can make purchases is through the mail or by telephone. Additional questions:
