2. About this Manual
2.1 Why a manual?
Checkout is designed to be easy to learn and even easier to use Point of Sales System. For instance, to add a product to an order or to assign it to one of your customers, simply drag the product or customer record to your order. If you are familiar with other Mac software, chances are you figured that out before reading it here first.
Even though a great deal of Checkout’s functionality is as easy to discover as the above example, this manual attempts to provide a comprehensive reference to all of Checkout’s features, both for beginners and advanced users.
2.2 How to use this manual
If you are an experienced Checkout 2 or Checkout 3 user, we recommend you to use the built-in example store to explore Checkout 4, using this manual as a reference to learn more about aspects of Checkout 4 that pique your curiosity.
If you are new to Checkout, we recommend you to start by reading the daily usage chapters of this manual, using the example store to experiment with the topics described there. When you are ready to setup your own store database, please refer to chapter 5 for an explanation of the available options.
This manual is divided in a series of chapters, and within those, sections that each address a single topic. Use the navigation column on the left to find the chapter that corresponds most closely with what you are looking for and chances are you’ll find what you are looking for right there.
2.3 If you need more assistance
For any questions that remain unanswered in this manual, please take a look at the other support options available on our website at www.checkoutapp.com/support. There you will find the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page as well as options to get personal assistance from our support staff.
