Networking

Sharing Stores

Checkout uses the Mac's Bonjour capability to share Stores. Bonjour is a general method to discover services on a local area network. It is widely used throughout Mac OS X and allows users to set up a network with little to no configuration. Up to 20 individual Macs can run Checkout at the same time. Each Mac workstation would require its own Checkout license.

To enable Store sharing, select Allow remote login to this store in the Manager > General > Store tab of the Store to be shared.

When the magnifying glass next to a Store name is clicked, Bonjour will be used to search the Local Area Network for shared stores. The Mac hosting the a Store requires a license and must be running Checkout to share the Store.
